provides superior service to New York City based property owners and
managers
to create career oriented employment opportunities for formerly
homeless people in The Doe Fund's Ready, Willing & Able program
to help handle pest infestations that threaten quality of life and
public health in New York City.
CUSTOMERS
Pest@Rest serves residential and commercial real estate
with a specialty in non profit housing facilities.
Revenue generated from Pest@Rest's services
provides financial support for The Doe Fund's social service and
housing programs for the formerly homeless.
APPRENTICESHIPS
As an affiliate
of The Doe
Fund, Inc., Pest@Rest
offers training to Ready, Willing & Able trainees
pursuing a career in pest control. Candidates participate in a
supervised on-the-job training program that combines a 30 hour
New York State licensing course with 40 hours of field training, and
8 hours of safety training.
PUBLIC HEALTH
Pest@Rest addresses public health concerns by combating
pests that can cause illness in humans. By eliminating pests such as
mosquitos that spread West Nile Virus and cockroaches that can cause
asthma, Pest@Rest has a positive impact on quality of life
and public health in New York City.
